When techies take a break from work

TechnoPark's `Tech- a - break,' gave techies a chance to let their hair down

A BLAST Techies have fun

TechnoPark - was abuzz with excitement last week with Sonu Nigam enlivening a five thousand strong crowd with his melodious numbers. The musical night was the epilogue of a week long celebration named tech-a-break which saw techies shake off their inhibitions to pit their cultural wits against each other.

Colourful masquerade

`Tech - a - break' started with a carnival; a colourful masquerade. Each firm had a team of enthusiastic impersonators dressed in all imaginable attires. No points for guessing that Sherston the animation giant came first in the carnival. Says Joji John of US Technologies, "The Carnival was a true celebration of colours. A welcome break where we saw our companions at their creative best."

The following days saw these world-renowned firms competing in group music, group dance, personality contests and the like. While Infosys stood first for Group dance, USTechnologies took the honours at Group Song. Kim Jacob who was first for Western Solo says "We all really took a well deserved break."

The Mr and Miss TechnoPark contest saw some gruelling competition. Nabeel of USTech was crowned champion among twelve contestants after tough rounds like talent and ethnic round. Of the ten girls on the list Sheetal of Ibs had her day when she was crowned Miss T.P. Earlier that day Russian dancers clad in red and black danced to the loud cheers of the charged crowd.

The food and juice stalls were busy . The stage and seating arrangements were prolific and world class, with a seating capacity of over five thousand. One glance around and you know the amount of preparation done.

Sonu Nigam's musical extravaganza was a real treat - a perfect way to end the corporate cultural gala. Nigam began with `Sarfarosh ki' and went on to `Chand ki' and a dozen other numbers before saying goodbye and goodnight.

"Now we all will have to wait for another year to take a break,' comments Sita S, an employee at TechnoPark. The organizers promise a bigger and better one next year.
