A new talent hunt

Television serials in Tamil these days borrow catchy film titles or even lyrics from hit songs and use them as titles. Now Vijay TV is in the process of making an innovative daily soap "Kana Kaanum Kalangal." The serial, set in a school, deals with friendship, classroom pranks, teenage love and more. The cast will comprise new faces, auditioned and selected by a panel of popular TV directors. It is the first serial dealing with the subject of adolescence. The channel is on the look out for young people in the age group 15 to 22. Those chosen will participate in a workshop where veterans will teach them the nuances of acting.
