Destination Dahanu
Handling television, stage and politics simultaneously means time never seems to stand still for me. So when I get a breather, without wasting a moment, I take the car and head straight to my farmhouse in Dahanu. I love the idea of being cut off from the world for a few days and leading life at my own pace.
Stunning coastline
Quiet, cool, unspoiled and uncluttered, Dahanu, near Mumbai, looks like an unending coastline (more than 15 km) dotted with beautiful beaches. Mention Dahanu and you can instantly picture sprawling fruit orchards, particularly famous for sweet-like-honey chikoos.
Some fresh air
When in Dahanu, all I like to do is go for long walks and take in some fresh air. Only a Mumbaikar would know how it feels.
First overseas trip
If you ask me a place outside India, it has to be Paris. For the simple reason that it was the first foreign city I visited. So, I was naturally carried away by all that I saw and experienced. And Sydney, with its amazing combination of quiet landscapes and vibrant urban life, is another favourite.
For body and soul
Some day when I make up my mind to splurge on myself, I would like to go to the luxurious Ananda Spa in the Himalayas. They offer exotic Ayurvedic body and beauty treatments in an environment that rejuvenates body, mind and soul. Imagine staying in rooms overlooking the mountains and the Ganges!
