An unfussy diner

Mythri has a good vegetarian and non-veg range

HUDA Maitri Vanam is a popular landmark with IT pros and aspiring software engineers. At any given point of time, the locality is abuzz with classes and seminars. And for those in between meals one finds eateries in the vicinity offering manna. Adding to the list is this restaurant complex that takes its name from the hub. Barely a month old, Mythri is attracting food buffs for its cuisine that matches vivid dining options it presents.

For the young executive looking for a quick lunch with a pint of draught beer, there is Juice, a rather queer name for a pub but nevertheless swanky in appearance - minimalist with no loud trappings with sleek furniture and the right amount of luminescence. Drenched in an Egyptian hue is Mythri multi cuisine restaurant on the first floor. "We have a lot of families from Banjara Hills, Srinagar Colony and Jubilee Hills coming for dinner here," says Astik John, managing director, Mythri.

The menu is unfussy and offers a value for money spread. Mutton, the flavour of the season post bird flu, rules. Choose from Chilly mutton, Mutton Manchuria, Mutton steak, biryani and more along with Fried fish, Chicken fried rice and Chicken steak, for the white meat aficionados.

"We have a tandoori platter that is very popular. A mix of vegetarian and non vegetarian kebabs are served on the platter," explains John. "We have kept it as a multi-cuisine restaurant serving North Indian and Chinese specialities," he adds.

A wide range of rotis, sabzis - Dal Amritsari, Jeera aalu and more can be seen on the menu complete with Boondi raitas. "We have an executive buffet for lunch at Rs. 105," says John.

And for those balmy summer evenings, a rooftop Green House restaurant with its wide screen television is the place. The din from the busy junction that wafts in through bamboo curtains makes it an ideal choice for a relaxed dinner especially if an informal dining is what you have on your mind. Bon appetit.
