REMAKE CALLING Vedhika is gung-ho about her role

Directed by Ahmed Siddiqui for Percept Pictures (Siddiqui has assisted Yash Raj Films on DDLJ and Veer Zaara), the flick is the remake of the 1975 grosser. "I play the central character. I have seen the original film. It was released along with Sholay and Deewar and was a super hit. The expectations will be higher this time around as well. It is going to be a challenge working for this filmJai Santoshi Maa is a commercially presented remake of the blockbuster tailor made for the young audience. Music is by Anu Mallik," says Vedhika.
On the journey, from Sivakasi to Bollywood, she says, "Sivakasi was an amazing experience for a first movie. I learnt a lot from the director, Arjun. In Jai Santoshi Maa I have a performance-oriented role, which offers me scope to use my acting abilities. It offers me a good start in Bollywood."
Any plans of working with south Indian industry? " I would like to work in south Indian films. I am listening to stories at the moment," says Vedhika as Jai Santoshi Maa is set to go on floors come June.
