It is believed by the Tamil film industry that summer is the best time to release a film. This year, the season began on April 13 and will stretch up to the first week of July. The Tamil New Year line-up includes "Tirupati", "Azhagai Irukkirai Bayamai Irukkirathu", "Tiruttu Payale" and "Pachakuthirai". The AVM-produced "Tirupati", directed by Perarasu,features Ajit. The Bharath and Mallika Kapoor starrer "Azhagai Irukkirai BayamaiIrukkirathu", directed by cameraman Vijay Milton and produced by Cheran, is said to be a love story with a wist. Susi Ganeshan's "Tiruttu Payale" is an action thriller with Jeevan and Sonia Aggarwal in the lead. Parthipan has produced, directed and played the lead role in "Pachakuthirai", a masala film, where Namitha provides the glamour element. Even if one of these films turns out to be a hit, it will augur well for the industry.
