A hundred years ago...

Mir Osman Ali Khan married Pasha Begum

This is Mir Osman Ali Khan, the future Nizam of Hyderabad, snapped moments before he was married on April 14, 1906. The 100-year-old photograph, according to Mohd. Safiullah who is an avid collector of rare photographs of the Nizam era, was taken just before his wedding.

He was married to Dulhan Pasha Begum, daughter of Nawab Jahangir Jung at Eden Bagh Palace, King Kothi.

History records show that the whole city was decked up for the marriage of the crown prince and heir-apparent to the masnad of the princely state of Hyderabad.
