Of artefacts from all over the country at Sri Sankara Hall

A National Art and Craft Fair showcasing contemporary jewellery, handlooms and handicrafts is on till April 23, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sri Sankara Hall, TTK Road, Alwarpet.

The stalls displaying handicrafts have put together a breathtaking array of marble, brass and wood artefacts, carved panels, black metal items, meenakari work, jewel boxes and more.

The handloom goods on show from Jaipur include bedsheets and pillow covers. From Rajasthan there are mirror worked tops, chania cholis, skirts, churidar sets and yardage. Chikankari tops, saris and kurtas from Lucknow make a soft statement with their pastel hues and fine embroidery.

There's a mind-boggling range of jewellery too - necklaces studded with precious and semi precious stone, gold plated earrings, pendants and finger rings. Intricately crafted chokers, bracelets and anklets in silver, one gram gold jewellery and temple jewellery.
