To deal with Menorrhagia

Don't let Menorrhagia get you down

DON'T WORRY Help at hand

Every woman suffers from heavy bleeding cycle at least once a lifetime, for some it happens at menarche, while for others it happens before the menopause. This condition of heavy bleeding lasting for more than seven days is called Menorrhagia.

Progesterone and Oestrogen are two hormones in women that balance the menstrual cycle, the period of which is usually 28-35 days.

Some causes

In some women, due to various conditions like the menarche when the hormones are not sufficient to produce a mature ovum or in anovulatory cycle or due to excessive levels of oestrogen there is excessive bleeding during the periods. It is hormonal imbalance and should correct itself gradually.

In menopausal women though, the cycles become irregular, unpredictable and sometimes lead to a lot of bleeding.

The cause could be fibroids on the walls of the uterus may lead to rupturing of the blood vessels during periods resulting is excessive bleeding.

Endometriosis, endometrial polyps, pelvic inflammatory disease are the other conditions, which leads to dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

Usually, the symptoms of menorrhagia require a woman to change sanitary protection once in almost couple of hours throughout the day and sometimes even at night.

Tiredness, shortness of breath, fatigue, symptoms of iron deficiency and anaemia are common too.

Homoeopathic medicine has good remedies to see that this extraneous bleeding is checked. If it is ovarian cysts, which do not get enlarged, Palladium, Apis mel, Pulsatilla, Colocynth help correct it.

If the endometrial layer is increased akin to increased oestrogen levels, Belladonna, Platina, Crocus sativa are found helpful.

Acid nitric, Thuja, Medorrhinum and Syphilinum tackle Endometrial polyps, occurrence of endometrium in other areas of the pelvis, pelvic inflammatory disease.

If the bleeding is continuous which were to start as a few drops and progress, Sabina helps so does Thlapsi.
