An Andhra Food Festival "Kshatriya Bhojanam", on at Hotel Aadithya, 155/1, Arcot Road, Vadapalani till April 22, is an effort to recreate the authentic flavours of Andhra Pradesh.
The hotel has brought in Chef Kothandaramulu from Kurnool, who hails from a family of traditional cooks, specially for the festival. He is all set to treat Chennai-ites to various podis, pickles and pachadis. He also has up his sleeve recipes such as totakura pappu, mullikaya koora and dondakai vapedu.
For non-vegetarians, there are preparations like kurameen vapedu, yattu kora and more.
The hotel's restaurant, Dauphine, has been converted into a typical Andhra town with clips of traditional Andhra dances and glimpses of popular tourist places. The waiters are attired in traditional silk dhotis and kurtas. Folk tunes in the background compete the Andhra ambience.
The buffet is available for dinner only between 7.30 p.m. and 11.30 p.m. and is priced at Rs. 250. For reservations, contact the hotel at 24880488 or 98408 41920.
