Cultural connection

There's reason to celebrate for John Britto's Dance Company. Close on the heels of its 10th anniversary celebrations and the successful completion of its mega dance event, the dancers have been awarded full scholarship by the U.S. Department for State to participate in a Culture Connect programme, organised by the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Washington DC, facilitated by the Office of Public Affairs, U.S. Consulate General, Chennai. The participants are attending the programme in two modules, one in Washington DC and the other in Los Angeles.

As part of the programme, the dancers will participate in classes covering various dance styles, perform to a varied audience and attend meetings, seminars and workshops with renowned dance institutions and teachers from the U.S. There will be an exchange of ideas with regard to growth and progress of dance styles, choreography techniques and community outreach. The participants will also showcase their talent in a combined performance with U.S. dancers.
