Fresh light on illumination

Wipro's "Light Show" displayed the latest in the field. Ready to switch over to new trends?

CREATIVE LIGHTING LEDs and a whole new ambience

Most people don't expect subdued lights from a `Light Show'. When Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting (the FMCG business of Wipro Limited) sent across an invite to one, held recently at the Taj Connemara's ballroom, expectation ran along traditional lines — bright, colourful and even blinding.

On the contrary, the range of architectural lighting on display seemed to make the least effort to give forth luminance, yet managed to lend a coat of aesthetic colour to the room.

The objective behind the new range is to tap the country's booming retail sector. "Every day, a hypermarket or a mall is added to the already burgeoning list of shopping options. All these retail outlets try to conform to international standards. In this scenario, lighting solutions assume great importance. Moreover, good lighting makes for more footfalls."

The light show emphasised the role of LEDs in creating ambiences. To showcase Wipro's new range of LEDs, these diodes were embedded in what looked like a traditional structure. The resultant effect was truly `brilliant'!

The show paid attention to the importance of energy conservation. Intelligent switch controls were flocked together — without human assistance, these switches ensure that artificial lights go off or are selectively turned off when illumination from natural sources is sufficient to meet lighting requirements.

The light show crossed its boundaries and made a pitch for Wipro's furniture as well — a huge office filing cabinet and a flock of high-end chairs took their positions in the ballroom.
