It's oil over!

PROVING A POINT Chef Sayeed Masood Ahmed

With lifestyle diseases like obesity, diabetes, heart ailments and others on the rise in India, the question of how to maintain a tasty diet while keeping down the oil intake is often on the minds of gourmets and cooks alike. Taking advantage of this concern, Dupont Teflon recently organised an interesting promotion for its non-stick kitchenware in New Delhi.

Chef Sayeed Masood Ahmed of The Metropolitan Hotel Nikko gave a demonstration titled Cooking Full Meal with Just One Teaspoon of Oil with Teflon.

Chef Ahmed chose four rich-sounding traditional dishes to prove the point that great taste need not be dependent on a generous amount of oil in the cooking process.

He served up chutney wali machhli, paneer ki khurchan, Shaubhnami tikki and subj milone tarkari, made with one teaspoon of oil each.

This event was conducted by the Fluoroproducts business of DuPont that owns the Teflon brand.

Says Rajat Tiwari, Business Development Manager, DuPont Fluroproducts business, DuPont India, "We want to dispel the notion that tasty Indian dishes can only be prepared with a high quantity of oil."
