Power of the pedal
If Hero Cycles is about the biggest bicycle maker in the world, the human-powered wheels you get at the Mercedes-Benz outlets here are about the most exclusive. If you are looking for style, and can't afford the latter, try the range of cycles from Firefox, India's newest bicycle maker.
What sets these rather exotic machines apart are a lightweight aluminium alloy frame coupled with Shimano gears... and an association with UK-based cycle-maker, Muddyfox. You get a range of about 30 options, according to the manufacturer - from MTBs to road bikes and also kiddie cycles. These will set you back by a rather reasonable Rs 2,500 to a gulp-inducing Rs 21,000.
There's more at these stores too - from helmets to water bottles and even a bike-rack for your car. The range sounds extensive, but dealerships are limited though - there's one each in New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Bangalore.
