`No no' to item numbers

I finally got to go to the Guruvayur Temple. It was one wish I fulfilled on this trip Sheetal Menon

BOLLYWOOD CALLING Sheetal Menon

At the Mather Lifestyle Awards function, in the city Saturday last, Sheetal Menon had all eyeballs on her.

Her father is a Keralite and mom a Mangalorean.

"It's not much of a back-to-the-roots feeling for me because I have hardly ever lived here. Though I had done a year of schooling at Ottappalam, I have an army background and so we were travelling all over the country."

A Kingfisher calendar gal, you can see her in the latest Diet Pepsi ad with another half-Malayali, John Abraham. How was it working with him is the oft asked question now from everyone. "He is really humorous and fun loving. I was nervous at first doing the ad because expectations were at sky high level. But once shooting got off I knew I could act well. John gave me lots of tips on acting and charting a solid career path in the entertainment industry."

Yes Bollywood is the next calling. After having done a couple of videos like Gori for Band of Boys, and the latest Piya Bawari, "which was very exotically shot and has a touch of the classic which is missing so much now." Having already finished an acting course at Anupam Kher's institute, she is all hush-hush about the projects. "But I know for sure no item numbers. That was an advice that John gave me. You are not taken seriously thereafter. After establishing myself I wouldn't mind but not before that." Right now though she is glad that "I finally got to go to the Guruvayur Temple at last. It was one wish I fulfilled on this trip."
