Preserving heritage

I regularly read the Heritage series in your newspaper. It is a very laudable effort, indeed, to bring to light the need to preserve structures with heritage value ("A rest house for pilgrims", April 8). Driving on the road behind the Perur temple from Vedapatti I have seen some beautiful old buildings in dilapidated condition. These are indeed worthy of preservation. I wish you all the best in your endeavour to keep heritage alive for posterity

Thought-provoking

"Entertainment mustn't erode values" (April 6) was interesting, informative and thought-provoking. Veteran stage actors, Delhi Kumar and Bombay Gnanam, who have thousands of ardent fans spread over the whole country, have given spontaneous expression to their deep feelings which reveal the prevailing state of affairs in the much sought after entertainment industry.
