Chennai's own Ratna Cafe is all set to go global
|
SOAKING IN THE SUCCESS Rajender Gupta
Ratna Café, established in 1948 in Triplicane, has extended its gourmet delights to other parts of the city with a new outlet on Venkatnarayana Road in T. Nagar and one in Velachery. One more outlet is to come up in front of the Madras Christian College by June.
The sambar soaked idlis, a hit at the café, will soon go global. "We are entering into a commercial agreement with an NRI based in Australia", says Rajender Gupta, Managing Partner of Ratna Café.
The café's idli-sambar will also be available in New Zealand, Muscat, Bahrain and the United Kingdom. "Negotiations with entrepreneurs in those countries are well in progress and Chennai's Ratna Café is poised to become a global brand," says Mr. Gupta. Apart from fluffy idlis, the café is planning to set up a mega readymix and instant food unit in Tambaram to market over 300 products internationally.
