Shake your leg to some rock music this weekend at Gatsby Village
|
If you hunger for rock music, but have no idea where to take your electric air guitar and bright bandannas, try the Gatsby Village this weekend for some explosive made-in-Chennai sounds.
No Idea, Hunger and LBG will be coming together in an attempt to revive the once bustling rock music scene in the city. Stating that music in the city has been suffering due to lack of support, the organisers say the event is a "show of solidarity from the musicians and lovers of music."
When LBG released their full-length album in 2004, they became Chennai's first rock band to do so. They are now in the process of producing their second album, `Bad Children,' which is scheduled for release this September.
No Idea, winners of the 2005 Great Indian Rock competition, toured Europe in November 2005. They are currently working on material for their debut album, which will be released by the end of this year.
Hunger is a relatively new entrant to the original rock arena. The band recently released a self-titled debut album and will be performing songs from this album at the concert.
Band merchandise and albums will be available at the venue. The show, which will be held at Gatsby Village (Neelankarai on the ECR), begins at 7.30 p.m. on April 28.
Passes are available at Gatsby Collection in Nungambakkam (ph: 28331677), Galloping Gooseberry (98845-79152) and all Fruit Shop On Greams Road outlets.
