French success
Going by history; specifically Citroen's extremely innovative 2CV and the DS models, we're not too surprised that this happened. The International Auto Show at New York saw Citroen's popular C4 being voted 2006 World Car Design of the Year. The Citroen's design has helped push the established boundaries of innovation and style, giving it top honours, ahead of the BMW 3-series and the Honda Civic.
The Citroen's interiors captured the imagination of the judging panel, with the debut of Citroen's innovative fixed hub steering wheel, as did the aerodynamics and a design that enabled two distinct body styles - coupe and 5-door, to be built on the same platform.
Civic sense
Honda's new Civic Hybrid has been declared World Green Car for 2006. The Civic Hybrid received the award by a jury of 46 international motoring journalists who awarded the title to the environmentally-friendly car. The Honda Civic Hybrid is the latest embodiment of Honda's commitment to developing environmentally friendly technologies which are also fun to drive. After going on sale in the UK this month, what probably gives it the award is its relatively affordable price - £16,300, or roughly about Rs 13 lakh... how about this option for India, Honda?
