Scary roads

Till about 15 year ago, parents in Bangalore used to teach their children to cross the road. But today, they themselves have to learn to do so. Along with its growth, the city is overwhelmed by traffic, poor infrastructure, degraded drains, which bring their own problems such as increased accidents and pollution. Our city deserves sophisticated engineering of infrastructure where projects should be completed within a deadline. The metro is a good idea. But before we get on with it, we should address important questions such as who benefits from it and what safety measures are being taken.
