Four exciting packages offer a wondrous way to discover New Zealand

Peter Jackson unveiled the fabulous beauty of the antipodes in his The Lord of the Rings movies and since then New Zealand has become a preferred holiday destination. For all who wish to check Kiwi Land, Tourism New Zealand, in association with Thomas Cook, has announced four special summer packages. The packages, New Zealand Naturally, Kiwi Discovery, Unspoilt New Zealand and Southern Sojourn, are all priced below Rs. 1 lakh. Also available is a Kiwi Way Discount Book, which enables one to avail of discounts on various activities and gateways to New Zealand. This offer is valid till September 30 and includes single entry visa, international airfares, accommodation, unhurried sightseeing, car rentals and daily breakfasts.

New Zealand Naturally, priced at Rs. 95,080 per person, comprises stays at Rotorua, Te Anau, Queenstown, Wanaka, Auckland, Glacier Region and Christchurch. The tour to the Waitomo Glow worm caves includes an underground boat ride and a visit to the Thermal City of Rotorua in the Auckland region. There are optional attractions like Skylines Skyrides, Clearwater Cruises and Trout Fishing (Lake Tarawera) and white water sledging.

Kiwi Discovery, priced at Rs. 95,750 per person, comprises an 11-night stay. There are also visits to Milford Sound, Bowen Falls and Hammer Springs.

Unspoilt New Zealand is priced at Rs. 95,920 per person and includes a stay Kaikoura, a town steeped in Maori history and legends. One can also enjoy a three-hour whale watch cruise to view the giant sperm whale. In Nelson, which is known for its year-round sun, one can soak in the golden beaches, three national parks and boutique wineries.

Southern Sojourn is a 12-night package and is priced at Rs. 95,000 per person.

At Christchurch one can opt for attractions and activities like the Hot Air Balloon flight, Black Cat Cruise, Canterbury Leisure Tours.

The trip from Wanaka to Queenstown through the Kawarau Gorge, is mesmerising. Then you could watch penguins at the Yellow Eyed Penguin Reserve in Dunedin and also visit the fur seals and Royal Albatross.
