GAME FOR IT Rahul Bose Photo: V. Sreenivasa Murthy

`Winning or losing doesn't matter. It is the way you play the game. When you play a sport together you make friends. Victory is good but defeat is also not bad. It is about enjoying the game and having fun', says Rahul Bose, the famous Bollywood actor who was recently on the sets of the children's programme Galli Galli Sim Sim, the Indian version of Sesame Street, a huge success in the United States. Earlier, personalities like Kiran Bedi and popular Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi have also made their guest appearances on the sets.

The show, to be telecast on Cartoon Network and the Pogo channel, is about children where puppets entertain and subtly pass on an important message. Says Bose, "they use celebrities to send the message to children because the message is quickly received if it is from someone that kids look up to".

Talking on sports, this keen rugby enthusiast, who has acted in films like Chameli, Mr. and Mrs. Iyer and Jhankar Beats, he says, "through the medium of games we makes friends and then it not important whether you win and lose. I have been playing rugby for 24 years and I have made three of my best friends on the field".

He confesses that "in my childhood I have always been a very bad loser and then you realise that all you can do is to give your best and the rest is in the hands of the God".

"By inviting people who are well known to children the idea is to have an emotional connection with the show. They will easily accept an advice if it is given from their favourite star or role model. It is said that journey is more important than destination. Walking the path is more important than reaching your goal. Life is more than winning and losing. It is also about enjoying and making friends", adds Bose.
