Strokes of tradition

Looking for some traditional style paintings? Then check out the Summer Show being organised by Raasi Art Gallery till May 17, 10.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. at 1, Anna Avenue, Bakthavatsalam Nagar, Adyar.

On display are paintings from different schools of art — intricately detailed Tanjore or Mysore, earthy-hued kalamkari and bold and bright Kerala murals. Also available are carved figurines of gods and goddesses in wood. Other attractions are reproductions of oil on canvas, including works of Raja Ravi Varma.

Raasi Art Gallery is a non-profit organisation and its objective is to reorganise, nurture and develop traditional art forms.
