Our responsibilities towards senior citizens

Living with dignity

Youngsters should be taught to respect senior citizens and help them live life with dignity. Old age should not be perceived as unproductive and old people as useless. They have immense knowledge, which they have gained from experience. This can be used effectively in corporate and social organisations. Their contribution to the society when they were young should not be forgotten. Indian value of respecting the elders needs to be revived. If the old need financial help, children and grandchildren should not hesitate to extend it.
