Las Vegas calling

Think Las Vegas and the image that instantly comes to mind is a city with slot machines and seductive women, typical Hollywood style. But there's more to the city, which is celebrating its centennial this year amidst a lot of fanfare.

With a population of two million, Las Vegas is sight to behold by night. Just as you drive out of the airport, you enter the famous Strip, the three-mile long boulevard that stretches from north to south, through the city.

A dizzying kaleidoscope of colour, the sidewalks spill with an endless stream of tourists who make it a point to visit the famed casinos.

The casinos have the same slot machines and roulettes. Day or night, these places are crowded with game-zealots.

The best way to discover the city is by walking in a leisurely manner, and that's what most tourists do. The constant flow of people, the neon lights, the musicwill recharge your spirits.
