Another Poseidon

Remember the 1972 classic film "The Poseidon Adventure" which ran at the old Safire theatre in Madras for 25 weeks? Well, now after 34 years, the movie has been remade as "Poseidon" by Wolfan Petersen, the German director who had made "Troy" and "The Perfect Storm". "Poseidon" releases this Friday worldwide, including Chennai. It is about a luxury ocean liner that capsizes after a tidal wave hits it, leaving the survivors to fend for themselves. A. V. Mohan, distributor of the film, is smartly packaging it as "Titanic-2", as the story and settings look the same.
