Director's cut
Dharani is a director with an impressive track record in Tamil films "Dhill", "Dhool" and "Ghilli" were all blockbusters. For the last two years he has been busy with "Bangaram", his first Telugu film for producer A. M. Ratnam which releases worldwide today. The story is about how Bangaram, who specialises in rural reporting for television, (played by Pawan Kalyan) realises his dream of becoming a BBC correspondent. Pawan had gone on a crash diet of fruits and vegetables to look thin and young for the role. The film, according to Dharani, has been superbly packaged in a commercial format without even a single duet. "Bangaram" has Meera Chopra (Nila in Tamil) and Reema Sen to provide the glamour quotient. Trisha makes a special appearance and Ashutosh Rana plays the villain. The title song, "Ra..Ra..Bangaram", tuned by Vidyasagar, has been rocking the charts.
