Summer special

It's summer time and the peak period for television programmes as people prefer to sit at home rather than venture out in the sun (though power cuts could be a dampener). All the channels are ready with their summer shows to attract family audiences, especially during weekends. Star Plus has an impressive line-up including the launch of the mega epic "Prithviraj Chauhan" on May 12 (9 p.m., Friday to Sunday), and the popular weekend soap "Baa Bahoo Aur Baby" (9.30 p.m.) and "Shanoo Ki Shaadi" (10 p.m.). Zee TV has got the viewers' attention once again with the soap "Saat Phere", while Sony TV has introduced two new soaps with catchy titles _ "Aisa Des Hai Mera" and "Thodi Khushi Thodi Gham". It is a tough battle this summer as new players such as Star One, Sahara One, and the revamped Sab TV are also making their presence felt and viewers now have more options.
