Some of the questions that the coming election throws up with respect to children are: Will it give all children free, compulsory and quality education?
Will it give children in every village and town free access to quality healthcare? Can it ensure that no child goes to bed hungry or that no child drops out of school? Can it ensure a child labour-free State?
These questions are of crucial importance because more than 40 per cent of the people, that is children, in Tamil Nadu will not have a say in determining who forms our next Government when the State goes to the polls in May this year.
The children need us — the people who have a vote, who determine policies and influence opinion — to speak up on their behalf.
