Back to comfort

Haworth, an international brand that designs and manufactures office furniture, has an array of products to get away with cluttered workplaces and aching backs. The company has designed bamboo furniture which is thin but sturdy, said to be ideal for Indian call centres and back offices.

Says Kapil Agarwal, Managing Director, Haworth India, "Our research and development team interacts with individuals, gets the feedback and accordingly designs the furniture, which is recyclable." For instance, As the noise level is high in call centres, sound absorption materials are used to manufacture the furniture. It looks into three aspects while manufacturing office furniture - ergonomics, acoustics and sustainability. Recently, it introduced Xone, a tiled workstation system with sleek European styling. Haworth also claims to give utmost importance to the office-goers' health. The Zody chair, for instance, has adjustable armrest, flexible back support and adjustable height. At present, Haworth has presence only in Delhi and Mumbai.
