Monnalisa smiles on Delhi

FOR GIRLS ONLY A Monnalisa outfit

Obviously, we are not talking about that mesmerising portrait by Leonardo Da Vinci. This Monnalisa, with an extra `n' is a designer kids wear brand from Italy. It comes under many names like Monnalisa Bebe, Monnalisa Bimba, Monnalisa NY and Lon, Ja kioo Monnalisa, Monnalisa Junior and Chic Monnalisa, and caters to diverse age groups and dissimilar types like casual wear, formal wear and party wear.

The brand, which has been selling merchandise across over 50 countries, is now making a foray into Indian designer kids wear market for girls by joining hands with Kads Fashion, a division of T.N.B Investments which is already fabricating apparels for companies like `Freelook' etc.

Hi-end customers

The company is primarily focussing on the high-end customers and will launch the collection under the brand name "Monnalisa Flowers". Kads Fashion will bring out this collection of clothing for girls in the 0-13 age group spread across two seasons - Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer.

When asked whether the company will launch a separate collection for the Indian clientele, the Global President of Monnalisa Group, Piero Jacomoni says, "The Company is going to start in India with the Autumn/Winter collection that has hit the stores elsewhere before. The garments will be manufactured here but the design would be purely Italian."

The chief designer, Barbara Bertocci chips in, "The collection would be designed keeping in mind the latest trends in the fashion market. It will provide girls with extraordinary and influential style through unique prints."

Kads Fashion will manufacture this line of clothes and will bring out the best in terms of material, tint and contour, they claim. The company also has plans to launch accessories like hats, caps, scarves, shoes etc. and there are also "chances" of coming out with a collection for boys.
