Matching the Chinese teashops

The lunch has as many as 20 varieties of dim sums on offer

Straight from the teashops of the Guangdong district in China to a five-star restaurant in New Delhi. Well, one is talking about "the most authentic" dim sums on offer in the Dim Sum Lunch at The Claridges hotel's Jade restaurant in New Delhi. Running through this week, the lunch has as many as 20 varieties of dim sums on offer besides a range of Cantonese small eats, supposedly known to be a part of the menu in all the authentic Chinese restaurants worldwide.

According to the restaurant chef Vivek Rana, "These delightful small eats will surely provide great taste and would surpass the expected stuff available otherwise." Keeping the Indian taste in mind, the chef though adds, "We have some Indianised dim sums too which are slightly spicier than their authentic versions."

Seafood too

To talk of the variety in the lunch menu, one can start by choosing from an array of appetisers including vegetable and seafood wontons, taro cakes and noodle-wrapped prawns. There is also an yummy tomato and chicken soup. The main course offers a range of steamed dim sums. Also on offer are various Cantonese small dishes like the chicken dumpling, pork spare ribs and prawn cornballs. Vegetarians can try out the stuffed shitake, bean curd rolls or the eternal favourite, vegetarian siewmai. To complete the meal with a dessert, you have the option of litchi with ice cream and mango pudding.
