Hands-free convenience?

Bluetooth headsets are becoming popular and act as fashion statements

To have a mobile phone is no more a novelty. From the area plumber to your subziwala every one has it. The question is who doesn't own one these days? But to have a high-end variety, meaning one that is equipped with camera, all the multi media facilities, or with PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) capabilities, and most importantly one that is bluetooth-enabled is perhaps the in thing now. And then you need a bluetooth headset also with which you can pair your mobile phone and virtually work wonders! Though this technology is a fairly recent invasion into Indian shores, it is fast catching on with the wealthy kids. If you have wondered how the girls have been chatting away merrily for hours together, with nothing but just one earpiece kind of contraption on, well, we guess, they obviously have bitten into the bluetooth technology. Well that is the beauty of this technology that offers you hands-free freedom to speak and allows you do a whole lot of things like e-mail, communicate, chat, listen to audio files, music and well almost everything.

A sleek ultra light handset with no wires or cables to get entangled into and that, which allows you to speak on, well almost endlessly, is what Plantronics Discovery 640 is all about. The first-timers will obviously find it difficult to assemble the series of shiny silver tubes in this gizmo (one might actually need the help of a local mobile shopwala), but once set up and the battery charged it works fine. Essentially it has to be paired with the mobile set you own. But then your mobile has to be bluetooth-enabled, only then you could pair it with Plantronics headset. The product supports multi point technology, meaning you can actually pair another device too, in which case it will allow simultaneous connections with two different Bluetooth audio devices.
