Style wise

WHITE ALERT Stay updated with the latest from the fashion world Photo: R. RAGU

What's hot: Skirts are must haves. But if you still like denims and trousers, check out the new light cotton trousers almost all leading brands stock. In colours ranging from beige to white, blues to rust browns and even understated burgundy, the cotton pants are comfortable to beat the heat. Try cropped cotton pants when you go casual.

Stock up on... Laces and crochet - all colours, textures and designs. A number of leading national designers are getting `lacy.' Find a good tailor to help you add new dimension to your kurtas, skirts and stoles with lace. The feminine look brought in by skirts rules right now and lace accentuates that.

Fashion buzz: Internationally, a slew of celebs - Tiger Woods, Eminem, 50 Cent, Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Lopez to name a few - have partnered with brands to bring out a clothing line. John Abraham joins the premier league by teaming up with Wrangler. Mane matters: While on John, have you noticed his ultra cool look in a shampoo ad? It's not just him. Everyone from Hrithik Roshan (Krrish) to Akshay Kumar (cola campaign) to Madhavan (Tamil film Thambi) and to an extent even Mahesh Babu (Pokiri) are sporting long tresses. Note that Dhoni doesn't figure in the list since he finally let a pair of scissors size down his mane. Summer means less is more, but our celebs surely think otherwise.

Colour palette: Ivory to pearly whites, off whites and creams are summer favourites. So are yellows, oranges and greens. Mix and match, as you like it.
