Rock meets country while Las Ketchup returns

Kenny Rogers

Un Blodymary

Las Ketchup/Warner

Remember Lucia, Pilar, Lola and Rocío, the Las Ketchup? Well, they did manage to add colour to the music charts with their saucy moves for Aserejé.

The divas return this summer with their new song and a fresh cover. Produced by Francisco Manuel Ruiz `Queco' Gómez the album was recorded at the studios Filigrana in Cordoba. This time they collaborate with Tino De Geraldo, Ludovico Vagnone, Maca besides others.

If The Ketchup Song sold over 12 million copies, topped charts in 25 countries and was included in more than 250 compilations worldwide, watch out if this cover improves on the record.

Already the first single and title track is chosen to represent Spain at the 51st Eurovision Song Contest. Way to go.

Highway Stars

Deep Purple/ EMI

The British rock act begins its Pacific Rim tour. And for this part of the world here is their offering, the brand new 12-track cover. The `Top Gear' inspired collection features tracks from the various Deep Purple line ups--vocals from Rod Evans, David Coverdale plus the classic MK2 line up of Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord and Ian Paice.

Find with the album a bonus booklet that features sleeve notes from Mick Wall of Mojo.

Water and Bridges

Kenny Rogers/EMI

<167,2m>Come May 15 and music stores will have some great country notes for buffs in town. After 20 Platinum albums, 105 million albums sold worldwide, and innumerable hits Kenny Rogers returns with a lyric heavy compilation.

The cover, a collection of 11 new songs finds Rogers working with Dann Huff, country music's hottest and most progressive producer. Rogers presents a cover with a contemporary yet timeless feel with well-written lyric and a strong melody.

Lend an ear.
