Down the tequila!

A booklet was also released which comprised 15 cocktail recipes that can be made using Sauza tequila

AT WORK Bartender Sandeep Verma at the Sauza tequila session in QBA

Want to elevate your cool quotient this summer? Then here is something that might suit you. QBA, one of Delhi's well-known lounge bar, has just introduced a range of Sauza tequila cocktail recipes. This past weekend, to celebrate the occasion, the lounge bar conducted a session with famed bartender Sandeep Verma for the tequila lovers of the city.

Sauza tequila is said to be a favourite among party animals and is chiefly about three things. First, you lick the salt, second, you shoot the tequila in from the shot-glass, and finally, you bite the lemon. The effect, you're right up on cloud nine. This is the traditional way of devouring tequila but not many people are aware that Sauza tequila serves as a base for cocktails too.

Cocktail recipes

Verma told us, is extracted from blue agave, a form of blue lily, and is offered in two varieties in India - Sauza Gold and Sauza Silver.

Verma, better known as Sandy in Delhi's party circuit, stirred the mood as he demonstrated exciting recipes to make Sauza tequila-based cocktails which varied from common blends like lime soda, coke and orange juice to rare blends like Fresca, Vermouth, Triple Sec, Black Sambuca and Grenadine.

The bartender reminded us of Tom Cruise in the famous Hollywood flick, Cocktail as he juggled the bottles and glasses in the air to entertain the customers, often flashing the spot-on smile at the camera flashbulbs. He was heard saying, "It's a bartender's delight to play with Sauza tequila and create some mouth-watering cocktails." Sauza tequila has strong character of its own and stands apart in flavour, taste and aroma, he stressed.

A booklet was also released on the occasion which comprised of 15 cocktail recipes that can be made using Sauza tequila. Out of these, Sauza Slam Shot and Sauza Scream Shot can surely make you wilful. Sauza Slam Shot can be prepared by mixing 3/4 part Sauza Gold Tequila with 1/4 part freshly squeezed lime juice and club soda and Sauza Scream Shot is prepared by mixing 3/4 part Sauza Gold Tequila with 1/4 part Melon Liqueur and a splash of Black Sambuca.

Another good option is Sauza Sunrise that can be prepared by mixing two parts of Sauza Gold Tequila with two parts of orange juice and two dashes of Grenadine.

So, what is holding you back?
