WORDSMITH Sachin Khedekar recites verses from Gulzar's books
Actor Sachin Khedekar, who played Bose in Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose - The Forgotten Hero recited verses from Gulzar's "Pukhraj" and "Raavi Paar" with his group even as visual excerpts from some of Gulzar's films like Anand and Mere Apne were featured. They also talked about the man's relationship with music composer R.D. Burman and artiste Sanjeev Kumar, who were also his closest friends in the film industry.
Veena Chadda, Executive Director, Samagam, said, "Samagam is a group formed by a congregation of prominent industrialists of Delhi. Its objective is to keep our old culture alive. It encourages art and culture, searches for new talent, gives a platform to young artists and also provides scholarships to needy artists."
She said the group tries to organise at least one programme every month. "It could be classical or folk dance or a music orchestra. Recently we showcased Shakespeare's `Macbeth'. We have also organised events with Anupam Kher and Hema Malini."
Established in 2001, the NGO also organises discussions on philosophy and Vedanta.
