Beat street

It's club sounds for soccer fans, hip-hop and mush rock

Huey Lewis

Chicago XXX

Chicago/Warner

This summer Chicago will be touring with the legendary Huey Lewis & the News. They return with a new album, named in Chicago's unique tradition, in Roman numerals. Ever since the band formed in late 60s, as a campus rock act, Chicago made waves with a different line up in each decade and each time the music sounded different. But the 80s found many heart-warming chartbusters from the ensemble, especially the Peter Cetera era. The cover happens to be the group's 30th album. Lend an ear to check the vivid use of horns in a rock context.

Reality Check

Juvenile/Warner

This New Orleans native laid foundation for hip-hop's southern revolution. He returns with his seventh solo album "This is my best album. I'm doing things I never would have done before. I'm making beats, engineering, and storytelling. I'm not just rapping; I'm doing everything," he says.

"I tried to follow The Chronic's formula. I like the way Dre put everybody together, as a producer. That's what I'm trying to do. I got Skip and Wacko all over this album," say s Juvenile. The cover features guest artistes Ludacris, Trey Songz, 8Ball, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Brian McKnight and others. "All of the songs can be singles, no fillers," he sums up on the cover.

Club Football--Vivid 7

Various/EMI

With the soccer fever the air that plans to only better with coming days here is an album to add to the adrenalin rush.

The cover brings global sounds to match the fervour. Club hits guru German deejay Paul Van Dyke and David Guetta, the Czar of Parisian nightlife, come with some energetic club sounds.

Paris musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter a.k.a Daft Punk present electronic music collaborations as also punk and electronic music from Harlem born Moby. Viva football.
