Let's mix play and studies

Indian version of `Seasame Street' is ready to hit the small screen

Neha Dhupia.

Actors making their appearances in children-dedicated programmes are almost a fad now. John Abraham was seen with smart kids questioning him on his choices in life on Pogo sometime back. And now it is Neha Dhupia. After Rahul Bose and Sivamani making their guest appearances in the Cartoon Network and Pogo Channel, it is now Neha Dhupia for the show called Galli Galli Sim Sim. The show first season of which is slated to premiered late in the summer of 2006, will be broadcaston Cartoon Network and Pogo. The show created for two to eight years old is the Indian version of celebrated American show Seasame Street and sets out to support fundamental skills in a pleasant and entertaining manner.

Daily realities

Set up in a local neighbourhood, the series reflect the daily realities of individuals from different sections of the society.

The show features four muppets and several human characters from different parts of the country, thereby representing India's multicultural society. About her new stint in a children's show she says, "I had a lot of fun and would like to come again. As long as it is for charity it feels quite good to be a part of the project. Association with something that is trying to make life better is really a good cause and I am trying to contribute from my side."
