FLAVOUR OF THE SEA Prawns, squid, seer...
Drink, music and scrumptious seafood. Taj Green Cove Resort, Kovalam, hosts `Blues Brews & Barbeques' from May 24 to 28. It is a combination of music (Blues), drinks (brews) and food (barbequed food).
Four marinades
One kg of seafood will be barbequed in the marinade of your choice. The four distinct marinades are - Continental, Thai, Indian and South Indian.
The Continental menu includes fish slice marinated with Mexican rub and griddled, and honey dipped prawns served with spicy mango dip, pear dip or barbeque sauce. For those who enjoy the sweet and spicy taste of Thai cuisine, there is squid in tamarind sauce and mussels with Thai herbs served with basil dripping sauce or spicy Thai dip.
The Indian menu includes grilled snapper fillet in mustard flavoured Indian spice, mint flavoured prawns from the Tandoor with mint chutney, spicy tamarind chutney kajur or anardana ke chutney. The South Indian marinade has prawns skewered and marinated in spicy flavours, squid pepper fry, green pepper marinated mussels cooked on the tawa and served with raw mango chutney, chutta chamandhi or idi chamandi. All this for Rs.350 per person.
