Neha, nicely

Neha Dhupia hobnobbed with the muppets of "Galli Galli Sim Sim" which will be telecast soon

ANYTHING FOR KIDS Neha Dhupia hugs the muppet, Aancho, her co-star in "Galli Galli Sim Sim"

Well-known performers making an appearance on programmes for children is almost a fad now. John Abraham was seen with smart kids questioning him on his choices in life on Pogo some time back. And now it is the turn of Neha Dhupia. After Rahul Bose and Sivamani, the Bollywood beauty has made her foray into the world of education and fun, in the TV show Galli Galli Sim Sim. The show, whose first season is slated to go on air later this summer, will be broadcaston Cartoon Network and Pogo.

Created for two to eight-year-olds, Galli Galli... is the Indian version of the celebrated American children's series Sesame Street. The show aims to support fundamental skills in a pleasant and entertaining manner, uplifting the importance of basic education among children and encouragement of India's cultural diversity.

Daily realities

Set up in a local neighbourhood, the series reflects the daily realities of individuals from different sections of the society. The cast features four muppets and several human characters from different parts of the country, thereby representing India's multicultural society. The show focuses chiefly on six areas relevant to Indian children: health, family and community life, culture and religion, elementary education, gender and language. The show also has a list of celebrity guests for each episode who will propagate a message to the viewers.

About her experience on the sets of a children's show, Neha says, "I had a lot of fun and would like to come again. It was a very different experience and I am pretty excited about it. As long as it is for charity it feels quite good to be a part of the project. Associating with something that is trying to make life better is really a good cause and I am trying to contribute from my side."

Talking about the characters she comments, "My favourite is Aanchoo, the muppet who acted along with me in the series."
