OUT AND ABOUT The tour marks the band's first big break overseas

Local band Thermal and a Quarter (TAAQ) is going places. Literally. Soon after opening for Jethro Tull at Bangalore earlier in the year, the band left Indian shores this past week on a three-week tour of the U.K., performing at some of the biggest clubs in Scotland and England.

Having already performed at Glasgow clubs The Barfly on May 24 and 13th Note Cafe on May 25, the band will do two more concerts at The Hold, Admiral Bar and the Sketch in Glasgow, before performing at Doctor's Tonic in London. The band then returns to Glasgow to wrap up the tour at Nice 'n' Sleazy's.

The tour, supported by the UB group, also sees TAAQ playing alongside some of the top local acts in the U.K. This is the band's first foray into the international market, and, according to the band, marks the first time that an unsigned Indian-English rock band has toured this extensively in Europe.
