TUCK IN Pick your favourite cuisine at Terrace.

Sip a glass of your favourite drink, take a dip in the inviting pool and tuck into your choice of cuisine while enjoying the waves crashing on to the sands. Inviting? Then head to Terrace, The Leela, Kovalam, and join them on Sundays for a gastronomic brunch.

With around 200 dishes, choosing what to eat will be a problem. The restaurant offers Indian, South Indian, Asian and Continental eats. As everything looked delicious, I had a tough time deciding what to pick.

For starters there were two kinds of soups and a variety of salads and appetisers. The Roomali wrapped chicken tikka with kachumber has succulent pieces of shredded chicken tikka wrapped in Roomali bread. The Thai seafood salad had a variety of seafood delicately laced with herbs. Spicy Tom Yum prawns soup had me debating whether I should have seconds. A bread counter offers various western breads to those who enjoy them.

Going South

The South Indian counter had `kappa' (tapioca) served with a spicy chilli dip and Manga Chemmen curry (Mango prawn curry) to pick from. The Attirachi biriyani (mutton) had just the right amount of spices and for those who enjoy crabs, Njandu Varutha curry was a treat.

The North Indian counter offered Murgh Tikka Masala, Palak panner, pav bhaji and a host of other items. At the Asian counter you should try the Glass noodles coated King Fish. Scrumptious.

Enjoy watching the chefs prepare pizzas with your choice of toppings at the Western counter. As dessert, highly recommended by the chef, I had Spiced pear with zabaglione. No regrets. Poached pear with red wine, cinnamon and whipped egg yolk, it was delicious. Chocolate Croquembouche had a yummy chocolate filling in the centre.

Head to the Terrace for an ideal Sunday treat for the family. The brunch is from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and costs Rs. 790 for a person.
