Your space

TUNED IN Shibani Kashyap with WorldSpace India's Chief marketing Officer Arti Mehta

Music buffs can now look forward to an exciting and novel experience, courtesy Worldspace Satellite Radio that launched Worldspace Lounge, the first of its kind in the Capital. Situated at the Metropolitan Mall in Gurgaon, the Lounge offers its customers a place to relax and unwind with music from over 40 digital radio stations. From alternative rock, to Hindustani Classical, to Classic Rock to Indian regional stations, Worldspace seems to have it all.

The lounge was inaugurated by Shibani Kashyap, who described how her own relationship with Worldspace began five years ago and admitted that she could not do without her radio. She then picked up the guitar and sang "Sajna" and " Kya Nazakat hai", mesmerising the listeners with her voice.

Arti Mehta, the Chief Marketing Officer of Worldspace Satellite Radio then explained that such a lounge had been designed "to create an awareness through stimulated sampling" since Satellite Radio was a relatively new technology in India. The quality and clarity of sound was fabulous, making the experience all the more enjoyable.

Relaxing atmosphere

Painted in bright orange and white, the atmosphere is refreshing and relaxing at the same time. This lounge, referred to as an "experience zone", allows visitors to scan through over 25 dedicated and add-free music channels, news channels like Fox, CNN, BBC and NDTV, which is broadcast in both Hindi and English. Worldspace boasts of A.R. Rahman as their Brand Ambassador and stations including PLAY, the first 24hour sports station, and spiritual and wellness channels like Moksha and The Art of Living Radio. Mehta concluded, "Everyone is starved of a new concept, ideas and experiences, and this lounge provides a unique ambience where music lovers can sit back, plug in a set of headphones and really enjoy their kind of music".
