Another gangster film

It is boom time for gangster movies as rowdies from Chennai's mean streets are being glorified on screen. The success of movies such as "Pattiyal", "Chitiram Pesuthadi" and the recent "Puthupettai" proves this. Now, Ranjith makes a comeback with "Don Chera" in which he plays a don who takes to crime under trying circumstances. The heroine is Susi Bala. K. S. Saravanan, who has worked with various directors, is making his directorial debut. The music is by Prince. Says Ranjith: "`Don Chera' has a powerful screenplay and it was a challenging role for me. I am sure it will go down well with the masses."
