My Kind of Place

MALAIKA ARORA-KHAN

SINGAPORE

Tourists' delight

I feel this thriving South East Asian country is amazing in every way. The discipline, development and sightseeing options are unbelievable. It may appear extraordinarily modern but the beautiful amalgamation of Chinese, Malay and Indian tradition makes its culture unique. Though most of my visits have been work-related, every time I seem to discover a beautiful aspect and seem to grow fonder of Singapore.

For my son too

It's not just me; whenever I take my son to Singapore he really has a blast since the city offers so much recreation for kids. Like the world famous zoo (also known as Open Zoo) and night safari, which get a large number of visitors every year. You can spot different types of monkeys, apes and lemurs in the zoo. Then there's also the Jurong bird park where you can spot fantastic variety of birds.

Ideal for foodies

There is as much to eat as there are places to visit and malls to shop. You can get to taste cuisines from across the world. Not surprisingly, the annual Singapore Food Festival has become a major event on the country's calendar. Singapore is also a paradise for shoppers who can get lost in the range of clothes, cosmetics and accessories that the swanky malls offer. Actually most people time their visit to coincide with the Great Singapore Shopping Sale.

Can't miss Sentosa Island

After an exhausting trip around Singapore you can put up your feet and relax on this magnificent island that houses the underwater aquarium and the butterfly park.
