A green venture

U.S. Technology will celebrate World Environment Day by donating the funds to buy 2006 saplings to green Kerala.

The amount will be handed over by the company to the Chief Conservator on the occasion of World Environment Day at a function to be held at the headquarters of the Forest Department, said a spokesperson of the company.

Their in-house corporate social organisation will also be involved in the effort to ensure that these saplings remain green and healthy.

Next year, the amount will be for 2007 saplings. This will continue till 2010.

By the end of the period, the company would have added more 10,000 trees to the green cover in the State.

The company plans to celebrate this as `Green Day.' Green stands for growth and all the employees wear green badges
