Shall we dance?

Dance Revolution 3 had students swinging

BOOGIE WOOGIE The show saw the students dancing to popular English numbers

Dance knows no age. And that was clearly evident at Dance Revolution 3, a show put together by students of Steps - Studio for Danz at Ravindra Bharati. It was a visual treat watching everyone right from the young to the young at heart sway to the beats of salsa, hip-hop, jazz, ballet and other contemporary music. Trained under the artistic director Prithiviraj, the students showed great energy and zeal in bringing the stage to life. The atmosphere was charged up by the cheerings from the audience, who were taken through the entire program by the vibrant host Nithi Rajagopalan.

It was especially difficult to remain a mere spectator on seeing the heart rendering performance by tiny toddlers, who jumped around the stage in sheer ecstasy. But the pick of the lot was also the grand finale of the show. Everyone was mesmerised when Prithivaj got along with Dr. Madhavi, a dentist, to burn the floor with some Latin salsa.

What also added to the mood was a small film screened by the institute that showcased the step-by-step progress made by the students during the various practice sessions before coming out with the final product. To make the occasion even special, the organisers had invited children from various non-governmental organisations to watch the show.

The show was a part of its 16-day workshop. And you thought there's an age for dancing?
