Kids will love it

Audio launch of "Ganapathy Vanthachi"

SHORT AND SWEET At the launch function of "Ganapathy Vanthachi"

The audio of "Ganapathy Vanthachi" from Prime Movie Makers was released at a short and sweet function. Veteran director Sp. Muthuraman released the first cassette and CD, and producer A. M. Rathnam received it.

Director Muthuraman said he was happy to learn that a new film for kids was in the making. "When producer Media Jayeshkumar told me that `Ganapathy Vanthachi' was a film not only for children but also for adults, I was delighted. We need good films for children. Director P. C. Guna has spared no effort to make it a neat and interesting film."

Producer A. M. Rathnam complimented Jayeshkumar on making a film that could be enjoyed by all and for his bold decision in choosing such a subject. Director Guna said the story revolved around an orphan Ganapathy. He finds employment as a servant in a house filled with children. The children love him. At one point, he gets thrown out of the house. The children are unable to forget him. Why he is thrown out, whether he comes back and who are responsible for his problems form the climax.

There are six songs in the film. The first song `Adivarar,' rendered by SPB, Veeramaniraju, Prabhakar and Sudha Devi (lyrics by Pa.Veera Athithya), enlightens listeners about the many names of Lord Ganesha. Kovai Subha's rendering of `Kaatru Vandhu' (lyrics-Prasath) is melodious. `Kanmani Paramma', written by SR. Pavalan and sung by Mano, is also a good number. Another song by Pavalan, is rendered by Krishnaraj who has a good voice and clear diction. However, `Antha Vanam', by the singer, does not leave an impact. Pazhanibharathi has written "Kannan Pole". Rendered by SPB, this is the only solo number in the album which is poignant. The last song "Chutti Chutti", sung by Pradeep and penned by Pavalan, makes one sit up and take notice. New-found music directors Prasad-Ganesh have done a good job but they could have avoided some of the tunes, which resemble some of the old Hindi and Tamil film songs.
