Calling parents to tune in

For parents on Moksha, the radio station on WorldSpace

Stay tuned to Moksha, the 24-hour Spiritual and Wellness Station (Station number 602) on WorldSpace Satellite Radio. It helps you relax, rejuvenate and connect with your inner self with its mix of music, information and wisdom. WorldSpace has now launched "The Parenting Show" on Moksha, which airs every Sunday at 10 a.m., and is hosted by experts Dr. Shekar Seshadri and Nirupama Rao. The interactive show provides insights into the challenges of parenting and suggests solutions to common problems. It helps parents share the affirmative and joyous experience of parenting.

During the programme, the co-hosts take listeners on a journey that examines the joys and worries of parenting in contemporary Indian households. The show examines issues that confront modern parents and through its interactive Q & A format provides a forum for listeners to share experiences and seek guidance from experts. The topics covered include sibling rivalry, disciplining and corporal punishment, sexuality, adoption and a host of other sensitive issues confronted by families today.

Dr. Seshadri is a professor in the Child and Adolescent Unit, Department of Psychiatry at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Bangalore. He works extensively with government and childcare agencies in addition to his work in mainstream child psychiatry. He has a special interest in using theatre as a tool in psychiatry. Nirupama Rao is a post graduate in Applied Psychology and has been working with and studying children and parents for the past decade. She recently founded the consultancy Wonderchild to conduct workshops on parenting, identification and management of school age problems for teachers, and life skills education for children.
